Rosemont College is excited to announce the addition of a women’s flag football program — the College’s first club sport — set to debut in the spring semester of 2025. The program will initially operate as a club sport for two years before transitioning to full NCAA Division III status, joining Rosemont’s 14 other NCAA athletic programs in the United East Conference.
Flag football, which has gained popularity as a fast-paced, inclusive sport, will offer students a chance to compete and develop their skills in a less formal structure than NCAA-regulated team sports. Club sports provide competitive opportunities while allowing for a more flexible level of commitment compared to traditional collegiate athletic programs.
Rosemont Athletic Director Rich Casey, who will also coach the new team, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative.
“This is an exciting step for Rosemont College Athletics,” said Casey. “Women’s flag football is growing rapidly across the country, and we are proud to be part of this movement. We are excited to expand opportunities for student-athletics and hope to provide a supportive team environment that reflects the values of Rosemont and encourages student engagement.”
The team will kick off its inaugural season in March 2025. Students interested in participating can contact Rich Casey at [email protected].
