Rosemont to Welcome Renowned Scholar on Graffiti Art for Author Talk on Wednesday, January 29
Rosemont College’s Cultural Heritage Gallery is proud to announce an engaging lecture by world renowned scholar Dr. Mitja Velikonja, chair of Cultural Studies from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia titled “When Walls Speak: Graffiti Studies in Ukraine.” Dr. Velikonja’s lecture will delve into the power of graffiti and street art as forms of political and cultural expression. This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP so that we can plan seating appropriately to: joanne.campbell@rosemont.
Campus Ministry: Get Involved and Give Back
Welcome Back! Don’t forget that the Campus Ministry Lounge below the chapel is open for you from 9:00am – 9:00pm daily.
January 15: Birthday of Venerable Cornelia Connelly. She was born in her family home in Philadelphia, near Suburban Station, in 1809.
January 18: Two students and several faculty will take part in an all day retreat at Cranaleith Spiritual Center. They will be joining representatives from other area Catholic colleges to plan ways to continue the Global Synod on their respective campuses.
January 19: We will not have Mass on Campus. We will join the community at St. Vincent de Paul Church for their 10:30am Mass. E-mail [email protected] if you plan to attend. We will leave from our chapel at 10:00am.
January 20: Inauguration Day and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. We will bring the 100 pairs of socks from our Giving Tree to the Joy of Sox warehouse and sort socks there from 10:00am – 12pm. We still have four spots for volunteers. Please e-mail [email protected] if you would like to join the group. There will be pizza and a showing of the film “Selma” that afternoon from 4:30 – 6:30pm in the Campus Ministry Lounge. Again, please help us know how much pizza to order by e-mailing [email protected] if you plan to come.
