Rosemont MFA Alumna Erin Entrada Kelly Wins 2025 Newbery Medal for "The First State of Being"
Rosemont College is thrilled to congratulate Erin Entrada Kelly, MFA ’16, on receiving the 2025 Newbery Medal for her latest book, The First State of Being. This prestigious honor, awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, recognizes outstanding contributions to children’s literature. This marks Entrada Kelly’s second Newbery Medal. She received the award in 2018 for her book, Hello, Universe.

Submit Your Entry for the MLK Artistic Expressions Contest
As we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy, students are encouraged to submit forms of artistic/academic expression centered around the theme of “The Beloved Community” for our annual artistic expression contest. Essays, short stories, poems, songs, visual art, and performance pieces are all welcome! Entries are due February 14.
