As the semester winds down and finals approach, itās easy to focus only on whatās left to do. This weekās Wellness Wednesday: Noticing Growth from Rosemontās Counseling Center offers a gentle, powerful reminder: take a moment to look back at how far youāve come. Sam Keller shares an encouraging message that helps students reflect on their progress and build confidence for whatever comes next.
If youāre feeling the end of semester rush, this Wellness Wednesday post is for you. Itās a short, meaningful pause that can shift your perspective and leave you feeling stronger and more prepared.
Before you close your laptop on this semester⦠can you take a moment to pause and reflect?
Not for whatās left to do.
Not for finals, deadlines, or whatās next.
For a second, look back.
Because somewhere between the first day and now, you handled things you didnāt feel ready for. You showed up on days you didnāt want to be there. You figured things out as you went.
And most of it probably didnāt feel like a āwinā at the time.
It felt like stress.
Pressure.
Uncertainty.
Just trying to get through the week.
But that is the win.
Growth Rarely Feels Like Growth While Youāre In It
It feels like effort. It feels like discomfort. It feels like āI donāt know if Iām doing this right.ā
So before you move on to whatās next, ask yourself:
What did I make it through this year?
Where did I show up differently than I used to?
What felt hard⦠that Iām now on the other side of?
You donāt have to write a full reflection or have some big realization.
Just notice it.
Because the way you got through this semester is the same way youāll get through whatās next.
Not perfectly, but persistently.
And that counts for more than you think.
The Counseling Center is always here as a space to slow down, process, and make sense of your experience; not just when things feel overwhelming, but also when youāre trying to understand your growth.
