As we kick off the new academic year, here’s a quick look at what’s ahead, some summer highlights, and the key dates you’ll want on your calendar. Rosemont’s Transition
Some of you may still have questions about life at Rosemont following the merger announcement with Villanova. Here’s the clear update: Rosemont continues to operate through the 2027 – 2028 academic year. Mission Statement Theme For 2026 – 2027
Each year we highlight a portion of our mission. This year’s focus is:
“Rosemont College seeks to develop in all members of the community open and critical minds, the ability to make reasoned moral decisions, and a sense of responsibility to serve others in our global society.” We look forward to living out this portion of our mission together with you this year.
Campus Ministry
Rosemont College welcomes people of all faiths and those with no faith traditions. Campus Ministry programs are open to all members of the Rosemont community and aim to support each individual’s faith journey and spiritual needs, regardless of their faith tradition. Campus Ministry coordinates Mass on special occasions; prayer services; interfaith discussions; service opportunities; retreat experiences; and other activities. Sister Peg and Campus Ministry are here to accompany you on your faith journey, no matter your faith tradition.
Our opening Mass of the Holy Spirit will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 12:00pm in the Chapel. We will join students at Catholic colleges and universities across the country in the age old tradition of asking God’s blessing on our school community again this year. All morning classes will end by 11:50am that day and afternoon classes will begin after 1:00pm to allow all on campus to take part in this special tradition.
Campus Project Spotlight: Patrick Herman Memorial Community Garden
Over the summer, volunteers tended to the Patrick Herman Memorial Community Garden. This special garden honors our beloved mailroom coordinator, who passed away last year and was known for his warm presence and love of gardening. Volunteers cared for the space all summer. Now that the semester is underway, we invite everyone to participate. Stop by, help out, or simply enjoy it as a living tribute to a beloved member of the Rosemont community who continues to help foster healthy living and generous community on campus.
High Impact Fridays
Rosemont College has launched High Impact Fridays, a new initiative designed to create exciting opportunities for students to connect, explore, learn, and engage beyond the traditional classroom. Below is what is scheduled so far:
- September 11: September 11 Remembrance / Nature Walk – Professor John Henderson
- September 18: Bucks County Cultural Tour – Professor Joanne Campbell
- September 25: Circus Weekend – Autumn Cornell through Student Life, Madison Lauffer
- October 2: Longwood Gardens – Professor Joanne Campbell and April Higgins
