Campus Ministry invites students and staff to take part in a meaningful service opportunity at St. Francis Inn on Wednesday, September 16th. This visit continues a long standing campus tradition of supporting guests in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood through hospitality, care, and hands on service.
Volunteering at St. Francis Inn offers a practical way to live out Rosemont’s values of compassion, community, and engagement beyond the classroom.
A Rosemont Tradition Since 1979
Rosemont College has a long tradition of serving at St. Francis Inn. The College has been sending students to serve guests each year since the Inn opened in 1979. Volunteers help provide hot meals to people in need every day, contributing to a mission of welcome and support in one of Philadelphia’s most underserved areas.
On September 16th, Campus Ministry will need four students and staff members to assist with serving guests, handing out extra food, refilling juice, and washing dishes. The group will leave from in front of the Chapel at 3:00pm and return by 7:00pm. To reserve a place, please email campusministry@rosemont.edu.
As former Campus Minister Eric Starrs observed:
“All of these jobs may seem miniscule, but they leave a big impact on the community. Each one of these jobs is vital to the mission at St. Francis Inn.”
