Rosemont College is pleased to announce a virtual mentoring event focused on building a strong social media presence. This program supports student career development and alumni engagement.
The virtual event, Making Your Social Media Presence Work for You, will be hosted by Dr. Karen Fiorillo, class of 1984 and 2002. The event will take place on February 11, 2026, at 7:00pm. Dr. Fiorillo is a dedicated Rosemont alumna with extensive experience in education, research, and professional networking. She looks forward to guiding students through practical strategies for online success.

Why Social Media Presence Matters
A strong social media presence plays a key role in today’s career landscape. Employers often review online profiles during hiring decisions. Therefore, understanding how to manage a digital footprint is essential. This session will help students learn how to present themselves with confidence and clarity.
Dr. Fiorillo will discuss the importance of maintaining a positive and professional online image. She will also explain how intentional engagement can open doors to new opportunities. As a result, students can better align their online presence with career goals.
During the session, students will explore professional platforms such as LinkedIn and Alignable. In addition, Dr. Fiorillo will share tips for expanding a professional learning network. These tools help students connect beyond campus. They also support long term career growth.
About the Mentor
Dr. Fiorillo brings a strong academic and professional background. Her publications include Guidance Counselor Perceptions of Cyberbullying Behavior in a K to 12 Environment, Undeterred, and Feel It, Heal It, Let It Go. She is currently researching the use of artificial intelligence in doctoral studies.
She previously served as President of the Rosemont Alumni Association Board. In addition, she received the Bonnie Hilferty Freney Award at Reunion 2024 for volunteer service. Professionally, she is a veteran STEM educator, entrepreneur, and group fitness instructor. Her business leadership has earned regional and national recognition.
