Rosemont, PA- The 2020 spring season was cut short for our Rosemont student-athletes. Over the next couple of weeks, rosemont-ravens.com will take a moment to recognize those spring seniors that didn’t get to experience a Senior Day ceremony in person. This week, we salute the sole member of the softball senior class, Kaileigh Whalen.
“As a testiment to her courage and bravery, she fought through a pair of injuries very early in our play, which the rest of the team didn’t know about, which just goes to show what kind of player and person she is”, said Head Coach Bill Relyea.
Whalen was a four-year starter for the Rosemont College softball team from 2017 to 2020. In her junior season, Whalen was named to first team All-Colonial States Athletic Conference for her 48 hits, 25 RBIs and stellar performance in the outfield. Continuing in the spotlight, Whalen opened up her senior season by recording her 100th career hit as a raven. Whalen’s highest season batting average totals to .389 and she finishes her career with 101 hits, 63 RBIs, and 6 home runs. Whalen will graduate this spring with a degree in business.
Congratulations on a great career Kaileigh!
