Campus Ministry invites the Rosemont community to a special Recognition of Saint Phoebe Event on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00pm. The student led event is being organized by Lucia Madron and Alexis Christianson.
Students, faculty, staff, and friends will gather in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception for an evening of reflection, community, and conversation in the spirit of Saint Phoebe. The Chapel is a meaningful place to hold this event with natural light shining through the stained glass windows, all depicting Catholic women religious leaders - like Saint Phoebe.
What to Expect at the Saint Phoebe Event
The Saint Phoebe Recognition Event offers a meaningful and welcoming experience for all. The evening will begin in the Chapel with a conversation in the spirit focused on womenβs leadership in faith organizations. Participants will also take part in candle lighting and letter writing. Afterward, the group will carry their letters from the Chapel to Main Building, where food and fellowship will bring the evening to a warm and joyful close.
Saint Phoebe played an important role in carrying a letter from Saint Paul to Rome. In Saint Paul's letter, he referred to Saint Phoebe as a "Deacon of the Church," acknowledging her pivotal leadership role and official service to the Church. Saint Phoebe's role in the Catholic Church stands as a beacon of hope for all women and the future of women's leadership roles in the Catholic Church.
