Rosh Hashanah Begins Monday Evening
Rosemont College extends warm wishes to all Jewish members of our community as Rosh Hashanah begins at sunset on Monday, September 22, 2025. This sacred occasion marks the Jewish New Year and begins the High Holydays, a time of self reflection, spiritual renewal, and community connection.
Rosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world. It invites individuals to reflect on the past year, seek forgiveness, and set intentions for the year ahead. A key tradition involves eating apples dipped in honey to wish for a sweet and joyful year. Another central element is the blowing of the shofar, a ram’s horn that calls people to awaken spiritually.
Rosemont College proudly joins in honoring these meaningful traditions. We extend a heartfelt Shana Tova, meaning “good year,” to all who celebrate.
Interfaith Teatime Conversation: All Are Welcome
In the spirit of understanding and inclusion, the college invites the entire campus to an Interfaith Teatime Conversation on Tuesday, September 23rd at 4:00pm in the Gertrude Kistler Library. This informal event offers a welcoming space to share beliefs, ask questions, and learn from one another. Tea and light refreshments will be available.
Through open dialogue, we strengthen our shared values of respect and compassion.
Catholic Mass & Community Connection
For those observing Catholic traditions, Mass will be held on Sunday, September 21st at 11:30am at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church. Anyone in need of transportation is welcome to meet outside the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception at 11:15am.
Honoring All Faiths at Rosemont College
As we begin this sacred time, Rosemont College celebrates the richness of spiritual life on campus. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all faiths are respected and every voice is valued.
To those observing Rosh Hashanah, we wish you peace, renewal, and joy in the coming year. Shana Tova from all of us at Rosemont.
