DOWNINGTOWN – For a second straight week, Rosemont’s golf team is near the team lead in a tournament after the first day of a tournament.
For another week, a player listed as an independent is performing very well at the top of the leaderboard to show the Ravens depth in their roster.
The Ravens are in second place, 12 strokes behind tournament leaders Gettysburg after the first day of the Rosemont Raven Invitational, held on a warm Saturday afternoon at the Downingtown Country Club.
On the individual side, Jordan Cook– not one of the five Ravens listed on the team roster- shot the best round of the day among Rosemont’s extremely deep roster with a three-over 75, standing six shots behind Gettysburg’s Danny Harcourt who shot a three-under 69 on Saturday for the only round under par for the day.
Nathan Moore and Stephen Vye both are one shot behind Cook with a 76 in the opening round. Michael Lange– who won the previous two tournaments that the Ravens played in- shot a 77 while Paul Fedele finished with a 79. Hunter Mickatavage – listed fifth in this week’s Ravens roster – had an 86 on Saturday.
The final round will get underway on Sunday at 10 a.m. in the final tune-up meet before the Colonial States Athletic Conference tournament in two weeks at Indian Valley Country Club.
