Move In Days Announced for New & Returning Students
Rosemont Campus is preparing to welcome students for Opening Day, a significant event that marks the beginning of the new academic year. Faculty, staff, and volunteers are working together to create a smooth and memorable experience.
New students will move in on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Meanwhile, returning students will arrive on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Families can expect a friendly, well organized welcome on both days. Everyone can find information about Parking Rules & Procedures including parking maps and more from Public Safety.
Rain in the Forecast: Community Support Requested
However, with possible rain in the forecast for Opening Day, the Office of Residence Life is asking for help from the campus community. Specifically, we are requesting large umbrellas, ponchos, towels, plastic tarps, and trash bags. These items will help students and their families stay dry during the move in process.
To contribute, please bring donated items to the ResLife Suite on the bottom floor of the Community Center. All supplies should arrive by Wednesday, August 20, 2025. By donating, you are directly supporting a better move in experience for our students.
Volunteer Opportunities Available for Move In Support
In addition to supply donations, the Student Academic Success Center invites faculty, staff, and students to volunteer. Volunteers will greet families, assist with check in, and guide students to their campus destinations. These roles are vital to ensuring that every student feels welcomed and supported.
Furthermore, volunteering is a great way to connect with the community and show school spirit. Ready to get involved? Move In Day Staff Volunteers can sign up online. We encourage everyone to review the opportunities and get involved. Be sure to check with your employer about Sponsored Volunteering to see if your volunteer time is eligible for a matching grant or Paid Volunteer Time Off (PTVO)!
Opening Day Marks the Start of Something Great
Ultimately, Opening Day is more than just a logistical event. It represents new beginnings, future goals, and meaningful connections. As students take their first steps on campus, your support helps lay the foundation for their success.
In conclusion, thank you to all who have already signed up to help or donated supplies. Your actions will make a lasting impression. Together, we can ensure that Opening Day sets a positive tone for the year ahead.
