Caplan African Art Collection Exhibit is Open
Rosemont College announces the opening of the Caplan African Art Exhibit. This inspiring cultural exhibit opened January 23rd and will remain open through March 8th in the Patricia M. Nugent Art Gallery in Lawrence Hall. A public reception will take place on February 7th at 5:00pm in the gallery (snow date February 14th).

Women in Glass Event: Saints of the Rosemont Chapel
All are welcome to join a riveting presentation by the Cultural Heritage Gallery. Women in Glass: Saints of the Rosemont Chapel will begin on Wednesday, January 28, at 4:30pm in the Chapel with moving music and song. Attendees will walk an illuminated path to Main Building for food, refreshments, and art depicting St. Brigid, followed by presentations on Rosemont’s architecture, history, and the stories behind the women who appear in the chapel’s stained glass.
January Cultural Heritage Gallery Spring Events
We invite you to review and attend our engaging schedule of Cultural Heritage Gallery spring events from January 28 through May 1, 2026. These programs highlight art, history, faith, and global traditions. Together, they reflect Rosemont’s commitment to cultural learning and community connection. The Cultural Heritage Gallery spring events welcome participation from campus and the broader public.

Rosemont College Residence Life invites students to participate in a fun and energetic Dodgeball Tournament on Thursday, January 29 at 6:30pm in the Sharon Latchaw Hirsh Community Center Volleyball Gym. This event provides a unique opportunity for students to connect, compete, and celebrate campus community.

First Pitch Dinner – All Are Invited!
Join us for the Third Annual First Pitch Dinner on Saturday, January 31st, from 5:00 – 7:00pm in Cardinal Hall in support of Ravens Baseball. Attendees will enjoy a full buffet dinner with soft drinks included.
Rosemont students may attend using a meal swipe. While preregistration is encouraged, walk ins are welcome.
January Student of the Month Nominations Open
The Rosemont College Student of the Month Award recognizes students for their outstanding contributions to our academic community. Nominations opened January 12, 2026, and will be collected by Student Affairs through January 31, 2026. The Student of the Month for January will be announced on February 4, 2026.
We encourage you to submit a nomination and help us celebrate the achievements of our students.

Cybersecurity & FBI Safety Trainings – Lunch Included!
All students, faculty, and staff are invited to two important and informative safety training events in Rotwitt Theater. Lunch will be served at both events, that begin at 12:00pm on February 4th and February 5th. The February 4th Cybersecurity Training is hosted by the Rosemont IT Department and presented by Villanova cybersecurity experts. The February 5th Active Threat Response Safety Training is hosted by Rosemont Public Safety and presented by the Philadelphia FBI Field Office. Don’t miss these opportunities, and register today!
Caplan African Art Collection Exhibit Opening Event
An event to celebrate the opening of the Caplan African Art Exhibit will take place on February 7th at 5:00pm (snow date February 14th). The Rosemont Cultural Heritage Gallery, led by Assistant Professor Joanne Campbell, along with Rosemont’s Art Director and Curator of the Patricia M. Nugent Gallery, Michael Willse, and their teams selected pieces that reflect the impressive collection for this highly anticipated exhibit. This exhibit will be on display in the Patricia M. Nugent Gallery through Monday, March 2, 2026.
Alumni Paint & Sip
Come paint a pair of stemless wine glasses on February 13th from 7:00 – 9:00pm! A design will be taught, or you can use your creative juices and freelance. All Paint & Sip supplies are provided and refreshments are included.

Rosemont Student Athlete Drafted to Pro Baseball
We’re celebrating a historic Rosemont College moment: Gisella Schiano is going pro! As one of the first players selected for the Women’s Professional Baseball League in its debut season, Gisella continues Rosemont’s proud tradition of Rosemont College women breaking new ground.
Faculty Spotlight: Carla Spataro
Carla Spotaro teaches a vast variety of classes in the MFA creative writing program at Rosemont. These include crafting and constructing novels, content and form in fiction, novel workshop, seminar in short story. Her adoration of teaching is felt by all her students, and she pours all of her efforts into every class. She explains, “I feel like whatever I happen to be teaching at that particular time is my favorite [class].”
Professor Emeritus Richard A. Leiby Publishes Book
Rosemont College proudly announces the publication of 1947 Making the World Over, a major new work by Professor Emeritus of History, Richard Leiby. The book represents more than fifteen years of dedicated research in prominent archives across the United States and the United Kingdom. Some of his travel to archival sites was supported by Connelly grants that he received while serving as a member of the Rosemont faculty.
Faculty Spotlight: Joanne Campbell
Joanne Campbell is assistant professor of sociology, head of department for sociology and criminology, and the director of the Cultural Heritage Gallery. Her long history with Rosemont coincides with the passions she shares with her students, whether they are on campus, or halfway across the world studying fascinating connections with the college.
