At Rosemont College, we embrace the diversity of our community by honoring religious traditions that shape our world. This spring, we invite students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends to join us for upcoming interfaith celebrations. These events offer opportunities to learn, connect, and share in the rich traditions of Ramadan, Passover, and Easter.
March 20, 2025: Annual Iftar
Kistler Memorial Library | 6:30 PM
Iftar is the evening meal that breaks the daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan. After a day of fasting from sunrise to sunset, Muslims gather with family, friends, and community members to share a meal, reflect, and pray. Traditionally, dates and water are consumed first, followed by a feast of flavorful dishes.
Rosemont’s Annual Iftar is a time for unity and understanding. Whether you observe Ramadan or simply wish to learn more, all are welcome to attend. This evening will provide a chance to connect with fellow students, appreciate the significance of the holiday, and enjoy delicious food. To RSVP, please email Eric Starrs at [email protected].
March 25, 2025: Annual Seder
Sr. Mary George Community Room | 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Passover, one of the most significant Jewish holidays, commemorates the Israelites’ liberation from slavery in Egypt. A Seder is a ceremonial meal held on the first nights of Passover, featuring symbolic foods, prayers, and readings from the Haggadah, a text that tells the story of the Exodus.
Rosemont’s Annual Seder, supported by the Ethel Levenson Fund for Jewish Studies, will be led by Rabbi Eric Yanoff. There will be a special remembrance of Stephen Cozen, long-time friend, former Rosemont College trustee, and initial generous donor to the Ethel C. Levenson Fund for Jewish Studies at Rosemont.
The event is open to all who wish to experience this meaningful tradition. To register, please email [email protected].
April 20, 2025: Easter
Easter, a central celebration in Christianity, marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This year, the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church celebrate Easter on the same day.
The Rosemont Experience
At Rosemont, we believe that no matter what discipline you study, effective communication and problem solving are cornerstones to success. That’s why students take classes across multiple disciplines—to learn to approach complex situations from multiple angles. We also recognize the importance of real world experience in preparing you for a career. In fact, every student engages in at least one internship, volunteer effort, or service learning opportunity.
