Willingboro, NJ—The Men’s Golf team showed well today in the Rutgers-Camden Fall Invitational by finishing second with a score of 333 out of 8 teams. The team played at the Rancocas Golf Club, where the "course conditions were completely different than they were a few weeks back", Fedele remarks after the tournament referring to the United East Preview on the same course earlier this month.
Finishing only 5 strokes behind Penn State-Harrisburg, who took first place with a score of 328, SO Liam O’Rourke and SO Jake Torres led the team with scores of 82 each, followed closely by JR Samuel Reynolds with 84, SO Ryan Slee with 85, and SO Aidan Rigney with 97.
The Ravens have had an extremely successful fall season finishing in the top two in all four events they competed in. Most notably is SO Liam O’Rourke who has finished first for the team in the Rutgers-Camden United East Preview, the Ursinus Tri-Match, and the Rutgers-Camden Fall Invitational and even took home first place as an individual in the United East Preview. O’Rourke had this to say after wrapping up his fall season today, "I first want to say thank you to Coach Paul because we wouldn’t be where we are today without him. I am very proud of my team this fall season; we have done great in every tournament finishing in the Top-2 in each event. I also want to say thank you to my teammates because I wouldn’t be the golfer I am today without them. They push me to become a better golfer every single day. I’m very excited for the spring season; every day I see the passion and dedication this team has to the game of golf. We’re coming for you Florida!"
Upperclassman, JR Samuel Reynolds, commented, "Our fall season turned out to be completely different from what we expected coming into the year. With our scheduled being changed last minute and our new coach, we fought as a team to win two contests and come in second in the other two contests, only losing by a couple of strokes. We know we are in a good place going into the spring. Individually, everyone knows the areas of improvement that they need to work on. Also, with the golf team joining a new conference this year, watch out for Rosemont to disrupt the United East!"
Congratulations to the Ravens Golf team on an incredible fall season and good luck in the spring!
