Raven Safe App Now Available

The anticipated Rosemont College Raven Safe App for smart phones is now ready to be downloaded and used to help keep Rosemont College Safe! The free app, downloadable from the Apple Store and Google Play, will play an important role in mitigating the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on Rosemont Campus, and is an integral part of Rosemont 2020.

Using the Raven Safe App, students, faculty and staff are required to complete a Covid-19 Self-Assessment to screen all members of the Campus community for symptoms of the virus. The app offers a quick easy way to answer six yes or no questions to assess a person’s likelihood of being sick (paper questionnaires are available for individuals without smart phones). A Green QR code appears when successfully completed without indications of Covid-19 symptoms, or a message is displayed with the request to report to the Wellness Center, if symptoms are present. App clearance will be required for all faculty and staff to enter campus, and for all students to enter the Dining Hall and/or classrooms.

More than a mechanism to use during the current pandemic, the Raven Safe App offers multiple ways to keep the Rosemont community safe on campus. Raven Safe is a comprehensive safety app with immediate anonymous reporting at students’ and employees’ fingertips, access to emergency contact information and public safety officers, and more. The Raven Safe App was developed as part of Rosemont’s $24,957 grant from Governor Tom Wolf’s commitment to combat sexual assault on Pennsylvania college and university campuses through the Department of Education’s It’s On Us PA grant program.

Rosemont was one of 36 Pennsylvania colleges and universities to receive the It’s On Us PA award.
