The Rosemont community mourns the death of Patrick Herman, our Mailroom Coordinator, who tragically lost his life in a car accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike while returning home from work. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Dana, and our thoughts are with her and his family during this heartbreaking time.

Patrick joined Rosemont in October 2023 and quickly became an integral part of our community. His kindness and willingness to go above and beyond were evident in everything he did. Whether assisting colleagues, volunteering at weekend events, or even encouraging Dana to join him in supporting our campus, Patrick’s presence was felt across Rosemont.

He will be fondly remembered for the warmth he brought to every interaction, always with a smile on his face, and the friendly conversations he shared with us. Many will recall seeing him riding his bike or scooter through campus in the heat, rain, and snow, delivering mail with his characteristic enthusiasm and dedication.

His life was cut far too short.

In the interim, Ritch Reilly will oversee mailroom operations until we determine a plan for hiring a new coordinator. The Chapel is open as a space for quiet remembrance for those who wish to take a moment to reflect. Our Counseling Center is also available to students, faculty, and staff for support during this difficult time.
