Erin Entrada Kelly Graduated from Rosemont's MFA Program in 2016
Rosemont College is thrilled to congratulate Erin Entrada Kelly, MFA ’16, on receiving the 2025 Newbery Medal for her latest book, The First State of Being. This prestigious honor, awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, recognizes outstanding contributions to children’s literature.
This marks Entrada Kelly’s second Newbery Medal. She received the award in 2018 for her book, Hello, Universe.
In addition to her success as an author, Erin Entrada Kelly has served as an adjunct faculty member at Rosemont and hosted several master classes in Rosemont College’s Creative Writing program.
She is dedicated to mentoring aspiring writers, inspiring them to hone their craft and share their unique voices. Her achievements reflect the College’s mission to foster creativity, innovation, and a lifelong love of learning.
