As National Hispanic Heritage Month 2026 begins on September 15th, Rosemont College proudly honors the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of the Hispanic community. This annual observance, running through October 15th, offers a powerful opportunity to recognize the achievements of Hispanic Americans and the vibrant diversity that strengthens our campus. At the heart of this celebration stands one of Rosemont’s most dynamic and impactful student organizations: the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA).
ALPFA: Still Rosemont’s Largest Student Club
ALPFA is the largest student club on campus, consistently drawing the highest participation of any group. More than a professional organization, it serves as a vital platform for Hispanic students while welcoming individuals from all backgrounds. The chapter fosters leadership development, meaningful networking, cultural awareness, and community engagement, helping members build confidence and prepare for successful careers.
Supported by faculty advisor Dr. Christine Hagedorn, ALPFA creates an inclusive space where business students expand their professional networks, develop practical skills, and form lasting connections. The club’s emphasis on collaboration and personal growth makes it a cornerstone of Student Life at Rosemont.
Empowering Students Through Professional Development
Throughout the year, ALPFA members gain real world experience through workshops, regional symposiums, and citywide summits. Students have participated in various ALPFA events at locations such as PECO Headquarters in Philadelphia and collaborative gatherings with chapters at Villanova University. These opportunities focus on career planning, personal branding, financial literacy, resume building, and networking with industry professionals.
Members regularly return inspired by speakers who emphasize the power of community and the impact of those who came before them. Whether attending a leadership summit or hosting on campus events, ALPFA students turn ambition into action and access into lasting impact.
Building Community & Cultural Pride
Beyond professional growth, ALPFA plays a key role in celebrating Hispanic heritage on campus. The club organizes inclusive gatherings that blend cultural appreciation with skill building, creating spaces for conversation, connection, and joy. From networking nights to collaborative events with other institutions, ALPFA ensures Hispanic voices are heard and valued while enriching the broader Rosemont community. Its open door approach invites every student to participate, reinforcing Rosemont’s commitment to multiculturalism and unity. In doing so, the chapter not only supports individual success but also strengthens the entire campus culture.
