Rosemont College is proud to announce the first Mock Trial of the fall semester, presented by students in the Legal Environment of Business course. This event will take place on Friday, September 26th from 2:00 – 2:50pm in Community Center Room 219.
The Case at Hand
Students will argue a Product Liability case involving a disagreement between a restaurant owner and a patron. Presiding over the trial is the Honorable Robert J. Votta, PhD, who brings a wealth of legal expertise to the classroom setting.
This trial marks the first in a three part series for the semester. It provides an engaging opportunity for students to demonstrate their legal knowledge and communication skills in a real time setting.
Learning Law Through Practice
The trial is a featured project of BUS 0320: Legal Environment of Business, taught by Professor Henderson. This course offers an introduction to the American legal system, with a focus on how law influences business operations.
Students explore topics such as contracts, legal rights and obligations, and regulatory compliance. Most importantly, they learn how legal principles apply in real world business scenarios. The Mock Trial serves as a practical extension of that learning, encouraging critical thinking, presentation skills and teamwork.
