On Monday, April 27th, 2026 Rosemont College Athletics hosted its final sports award ceremony in school history. The evening was filled with pride, emotion, and gratitude as athletes, coaches, and families gathered to celebrate one last time. One of the standout moments was the Men’s Basketball Award Ceremony Speech delivered by senior Ryan Bowman. Having first taken the court on campus in December 1924, the Basketball team is the first and oldest sport in the history of athletics at Rosemont College.
Ryan Bowman’s Full Speech
Good evening, everyone. Thank you for taking the time to join us for our final Rosemont College Athletics Awards Ceremony. It is truly a privilege to be with you all. My name is Ryan Bowman, and I am a senior here at Rosemont and tonight’s representative for our Men’s Basketball team. I have been involved with our team for the last three seasons as a manager and most recently as a student assistant coach.
Over this time frame, I have seen a lot of change and growth not only in the players and staff but the program as a whole. It is an honor to be presenting the awards on behalf of the basketball team.
A Final Season to Remember
Our Basketball team was excited to have a final season during the 2025 – 2026 school year. We had a good mix of upperclassmen and underclassmen guiding our team into this journey together. The players and staff worked very hard in preseason to prep for one last playoff push. There were a lot of ups and downs, exciting wins and tough losses, but memories were made throughout.
We had the highest team GPA in Men’s Basketball history with a 3.27. We had an amazing trip to play the United States Navy and even had a packed house on Senior Day with a chance to clinch a playoff spot.
Award Winners
The Coach’s Award is given to an athlete or team member who showcases leadership, dedication, sportsmanship, and embodies all of the team’s values — not just performance wise. This is an individual who helped make the culture and experience of playing and being around the team memories that this group will cherish forever. This award goes to none other than Captain and Senior Forward Brandon Moore.
The MVP Award honors the player with the greatest impact on a team’s success through exceptional performance, leadership, and consistency. This player held himself to a very high standard on and off the court as he was always one of the first ones there and last ones to leave. These last four years he has truly shown what it has meant to be a Rosemont Men’s Basketball player. This award goes to Captain and Senior Guard Zaki Gomez.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support of our athletes and each other along with the institution throughout these unknown times. The time we have all spent together and the laughs and experiences we shared will last a lifetime. Appreciate your time and as always Go Rosemont!! Because once you are a Raven you are always a Raven!
Honoring the Final Chapter
Ryan Bowman’s Men’s Basketball Award Ceremony Speech beautifully summarized what the final season meant to the players and the program. His words reflected not only on court achievements but also the character, growth, and unity that defined this team.
Congratulations once again to Brandon Moore (Coach’s Award) and Zaki Gomez (MVP) for their well deserved honors. Their leadership helped guide the program through its final season with pride and dignity.
