Rosemont Team Places Fifth Nationally
Rosemont College marketing students have earned national recognition by securing fifth place in the competitive Direct Effect Marketing Madness Challenge. Hosted by the United States Postal Service (USPS), this annual competition challenges students to market the Direct Effect platforms while earning points for completing mini-courses. Rosemont was among 16 schools—including major universities—to reach the final round, showcasing the strength of its business programs.
Throughout the month-long virtual challenge, students promoted the Direct Effect platform, an initiative that offers free online learning and micro-credentials to college students. By completing credentialed mini-courses, students gained valuable skills in marketing and communications while earning points for their school. The Rosemont team worked to engage the campus community, encouraging widespread participation and creating a spirit of collaboration and friendly competition.
Leading Rosemont’s team were Ian Dolan and Brandon Peake, two students with a strong passion for strategic communication. Their innovative outreach efforts and commitment to excellence helped secure Rosemont’s top-five finish on the national leaderboard.
“This achievement is a testament to the talent and determination of our students,” said Christine Hagedorn, faculty advisor and discipline coordinator of the business program. “The Marketing Madness Challenge pushes students beyond the classroom and allows them to apply their knowledge in a competitive, real-world environment. I am incredibly proud of their hard work and the recognition they have earned on a national stage.”
Rosemont College continues to provide students with opportunities to gain practical experience, build industry connections, and develop leadership skills. Congratulations to Ian, Brandon, and the entire team for their outstanding performance in this prestigious competition!
