Rosemont College’s Summer Writer’s Retreat is excited to offer a transformative weekend workshop with acclaimed author Margo Rabb. The Margo Rabb Weekend – Journaling takes place from July 10–12, 2026. This workshop focuses on The Creative Notebook: How to Get Unstuck, Break Through Blocks, and Take Your Writing to the Next Level.
This multi-genre workshop is perfect for writers of all levels who want to deepen their creative practice.
What to Expect from the Margo Rabb Weekend
Led by award-winning author Margo Rabb, this interactive workshop will show participants how a simple blank notebook can become a powerful creative tool. Through daily writing and creativity exercises, participants will learn how to:
- Generate new ideas across fiction, memoir, essays, poetry, and articles
- Break through creative blocks and writing resistance
- Dive deeper into their current projects
Break traditional rules to make their writing feel alive and authentic
Weather permitting, portions of the workshop will take place outdoors, exploring how writing in nature can spark new. The weekend will also include practical guidance on submitting work for publication, finding literary agents, and developing creative strategies.
Meet Margo Rabb
Margo Rabb is a celebrated writer whose essays, journalism, short stories, and book reviews have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Smithsonian Magazine, and many others. She is the author of the critically acclaimed novels Lucy Clark Will Not Apologize, Kissing in America, and Cures for Heartbreak. Her work has earned numerous honors, including first prize in The Atlantic fiction contest and the Zoetrope short story contest.
