LA VERNE, Cal. – Stephen Vye and Michael Lange were the top scorers for Rosemont’s golf team on Monday as the Ravens played 36 holes in the first day of the West Cup hosted by the University of La Verne near Los Angeles.
Vye shot a two-over 73 in the first round at the Sierra La Verne Country Club before shooting an 85 on his second 18 holes of the day. Lange- who was a finalist at last year’s NCAA Championship- bounced back from a rocky opening round to shoot a 76 in the second round of the day to post a 162 (+20 over) for the event. He is tied with Hunter Mickatavage, who shot two 81s in his opening two rounds of the tournament.
Paul Fedele (163) and Jordan Cook (172) also are competing in the 54 hole event, which will wrap up on Tuesday afternoon. The Ravens will then come home and compete in the McDaniel College Spring Invitational in suburban Maryland this weekend as the spring portion of their schedule gets underway.
