ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The temperatures plunged. The scores soared. And Michael Lange remained steady.
And because of that, Rosemont’s junior has another tournament title on his resume.
Lange shot a final round 75- the lowest of anyone to take the course on Sunday- and ended up as the individual champion at the McDaniel Spring Invitational Tournament played at The Bridges Golf Course in Abbottstown.
Lange tied with McDaniel’s Kevin Keane for the top score for the two days at +7 (151) combined on the windswept, soggy course that had some rough green conditions. However, Lange was declared the winner overall because his score on the 2nd handicap hole on Sunday was the lowest between the competitors.
As a team, the Ravens finished seventh overall with a +68 score of 644 – two better than Swarthmore’s +70. The two teams began the day tied for the eighth spot.
Stephen Vye finished tied for 19th overall with a +15 score over the two days. Paul Fedele shot a 79 to post one of the rare rounds across the board that was in the 70s to finish 37th. Quentin Davis (88) and Nathan Moore (92) battled the conditions on Sunday.
The Ravens are back on the road next week to play in the Susquehanna Spring Invitational.
