Rosemont College is proud to announce that Dr. Alan Preti, Associate Professor of Philosophy, has been appointed President of the Society for Ethics Across the Curriculum (SEAC). Founded in 1999, SEAC is an international organization dedicated to advancing ethics research and instruction across all academic disciplines. Dr. Preti’s term as president will run through December 31, 2027.
Dr. Preti has been a faculty member at Rosemont College for 17 years, inspiring students with his expertise in theoretical and applied ethics, moral psychology, and moral decision-making. He also has interests in Asian philosophical traditions, logic, and the history of philosophy. Prior to this new leadership role, he served on SEAC’s Executive Committee for six years, helping to guide the organization’s initiatives.
“I am honored to serve in this role and support SEAC’s mission to promote the study and teaching of ethics in all fields,” said Dr. Preti. “SEAC provides a valuable space for sharing ideas, research, and resources to help integrate ethics into education.”
SEAC hosts an annual conference that brings together scholars from around the world to discuss ethical issues in education, research, and society. This year’s conference will take place from October 8 to 10 at Villanova University.
