A Week That Reflects Rosemont’s Values
Heritage Week is a week that recognizes the founding of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, Rosemont College’s inherited legacy and the traditions that continue today. The annual weekly celebration is a series of events designed to reflect Rosemont’s values rooted in Catholicism emphasizing dignity, diversity, justice and care for the earth.
The SHCJ Archives Project
We invite you to read the SHCJ Archives Project created by Sister Roseanne McDougall, SHCJ, and Margaret “Peg” Isselmann ’64. The SHCJ Archives Project details the recorded happenings from the Sisters’ Journal writings during the first ten years of the College. Their findings lend insight into the beginnings of the College and help us to become aware of the dedication and traditions which marked Rosemont College from its inception. This account describes some of the heritage the Rosemont community shares.
Heritage Week 2025 Events
Opening Mass
- When: Sunday, October 5th, 10:00am
- Where: Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, Rosemont College
- Details: Start the week with Mass centered on gratitude and unity. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Meet and Greet with the Holy Child Sisters
- When: Monday, October 6th, 12:00 – 1:00pm
- Where: Community Center Lobby
- Details: Meet the Sisters who helped shape Rosemont’s mission and continue to inspire its values.
Movie Night: Monsters University
- When: Tuesday, October 7th, 7:00pm
- Where: Commuter Lounge
- Details: Enjoy a fun and relaxing evening with classmates. Watch a film that celebrates growth and friendship.
St. Francis Pledge & Blessing of Animals
- When: Wednesday, October 8th, 12:00pm
- Where: Community Center Lobby
- Details: Celebrate care for creation. Join the campus in blessing animals and renew the St. Francis pledge. Bring your pet to be blessed or send a photo of your pet for printing to [email protected] by 10:00am Wednesday, October 8th.
Student Engagement Bonfire
- When: Thursday, October 9th, 6:30pm
- Where: Connelly Green
- Details: Gather for music, snacks, and community under the stars. This student engagement fall tradition is a student favorite.
Women’s Volleyball vs. Penn State
- When: Saturday, October 11th, 1:00pm
- Where: Sr. Mary George Community Room in the Community Center
- Details: Support the Ravens in a high energy home game. Show your school pride and cheer loud.
