Rosegrow Harvest Gratitude Ceremony at the Patrick Herman Memorial Garden
Rosegrow, the student club that developed and maintains the Patrick Herman Memorial Garden, will host a Harvest Gratitude and Garden Closing Ceremony on November 20 at 3:30 in the afternoon. The event will honor the meaningful harvest grown through the steady work of Rosegrow members and friends. It will also recognize the lasting influence of Patrick Herman, a Rosemont employee who passed away earlier this year and whose memory continues to inspire the garden community.
Organizers state that Harvest Gratitude will serve as the central theme of the program. The ceremony will celebrate the dedication of the students who created, planted, watered, and cared for each bed during a season filled with learning and teamwork. Their efforts created a harvest that brought pride to the entire campus and to everyone who supported the project.
Guests will hear remarks from Rosegrow leaders who will highlight the growth of the garden and the spirit of service that shaped it. These remarks will reflect on the impact of Patrick Herman’s legacy and the strength of the community that continues to honor his values and contributions to campus. Speakers will also note the importance of shared responsibility in maintaining a living space that brings comfort and connection to so many people.
The event will include the final task of preparing the garden for winter. Community members are invited to assist by bringing the bike in for the season. This simple task represents unity and care for the tools that help sustain the garden.
The Patrick Herman Memorial Garden has become a place of reflection and learning. Students gained new skills as they nurtured young plants. Visitors found quiet moments that strengthened their connection to the campus community.
The Harvest Gratitude gathering will close the season with sincerity and hope. Attendees will leave with appreciation for the work completed by Rosegrow and for the memory that continues to guide the garden forward.
