SAVANNAH, Ga. – With the arctic reminders of winter weather rolling through the Eastern portion of the country, the best thing that could happen to the Rosemont golf team was just getting out onto a course this week to begin their spring season.
Playing in a makeshift tournament after their original one- the Callaway Gardens Collegiate Invitational- was wiped out because of heavy rains that flooded out the course, the Ravens were able to get two very valuable rounds in against top flight competiton on Monday and Tuesday at the Savannah Harbor Classic.
Rosemont finished 16th in the event overall, finishing with a team score of 640 for the two day event.
Among individual performers, Stephen Vye and Nathan Moore were the low scorers for the Ravens. Both shot a 15-over 159 on the two day event with identical 79 and 80s on the two days. Hunter Mickatavage shot a 79 on Tuesday to finish the event at 163 (+19). Michael Lange and Jordan Cook finished with total score of 165 (+21).
The Ravens are back in action in three weeks when they will travel to La Verne, California to participate in the West Cup on March 25-26.
