Rosemont College announces an upcoming writing masterclass titled Goldmines: Digging Deep to Find Writing Gems. This one day course is part of the Writers Studio Masterclasses for spring 2026. The program invites writers to explore memory, observation, and imagination through guided creative practice. Goldmines offers a focused and supportive learning experience for writers seeking fresh material and renewed energy.
The course emphasizes discovery as the foundation of strong writing. Participants learn how everyday moments can become powerful creative work. Through structured prompts and reflection, writers uncover ideas that feel personal and vivid. The class encourages curiosity, openness, and momentum.
Goldmines: Digging Deep to Find Writing Gems is led by Donna Kennedy Maccherone. She brings years of writing experience and a thoughtful approach to creative exploration. Her prompts come from the Zen Wise Writers workshops. These exercises help writers move past habits and access new thought patterns.

What Participants Will Experience
Writers will engage in a full day of guided writing. Each session builds toward deeper insight and confidence. The course supports poems, essays, fiction, lyrics, and memoir pieces. Writers generate multiple drafts during the workshop.
Students explore memories and encounters that hold creative potential. They learn how to shape raw ideas into meaningful work. Discussion focuses on craft and intention. Sharing remains optional and respectful.
The course also helps writers understand their own process. Reflection plays a key role in the day. Writers leave with tools they can use long after the class ends.
Designed for Writers at All Levels
Goldmines welcomes writers from every background. Some participants journal privately. Others publish regularly. The course values each perspective equally. Peer presence adds inspiration and insight. By the end of the day, participants gain a collection of new material. Many writers leave with renewed motivation. Others find clarity for ongoing projects.
