Rosemont College proudly announces a Spring 2026 Writers Studio masterclass titled Goldmines Digging Deep to Find Writing Gems. The course will be led by acclaimed writer and educator Donna Kennedy Maccherone. She brings forty years of teaching experience to the Rosemont community. She is the founder of Zen Wise Writers. Throughout her career, she has guided adolescent and adult writers with care and insight. Her approach encourages reflection, courage, and creative growth.
About Donna Kennedy Maccherone
Donna Kennedy Maccherone holds a BA in English Literature and an MA in Writing Studies from Saint Josephs University in Philadelphia. Her academic training supports a strong foundation in both theory and practice. As a result, her teaching balances structure with creative freedom.
Her writing has appeared in many respected publications. These include The Philadelphia Inquirer, Tiferet Journal, Collateral, ParentCo, Kaatskill Life, Paterson Literary Review, East By Northeast Literary Magazine, BrainChild, The Weight of Motherhood, a Moonstone Arts anthology, and Persimmon Tree. Each publication reflects her commitment to thoughtful storytelling.
Because of this wide experience, participants learn from a writer who understands many forms and audiences. Her work explores memory, relationships, and personal insight. These themes align closely with the values of Rosemont College.
An Immersive Writing Experience at Rosemont
Goldmines Digging Deep to Find Writing Gems will take place on April 25, 2026 at Rosemont College. The one day masterclass invites writers to uncover ideas worth shaping into lasting work. Through guided prompts, participants explore memories and encounters that hold creative potential.
Students will generate new drafts during the session. They will also gain techniques for future projects. The course welcomes writers at all levels. Both emerging and experienced voices will find value in the process.
