Rosemont College proudly announces its selection as a finalist in the 2025 Direct Effect Innovation Challenge (DEIC), presented by The Pennsylvania Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial (America250PA). This statewide competition brings together talented student teams to design innovative marketing solutions that promote Pennsylvania’s future growth.
The DEIC encourages creativity, collaboration, and strategic thinking. Rosemont College’s finalist advanced through the first two rounds and earned a place among the top finalists. The third and final event takes place in Harrisburg on Wednesday, November 12. During this exciting finale, student teams will present their ideas live before judges and a statewide audience.
Rosemont’s Gifted Finalist
Rosemont’s finalist is Phoenix Gruver, a student from the Graphic Arts Department, who developed the winning campaign entirely on his own. While many assume the DEIC entries come from business students, Phoenix’s achievement highlights the power of creativity and ingenuity beyond traditional business programs. He worked independently under the guidance of Dr. Christine Hagedorn, advisor of Rosemont’s business department, combining strategic insight with his artistic expertise.
Celebrating Innovation & Dedication
Rosemont College congratulates all participants in the 2025 DEIC for their hard work and vision. Each team demonstrates remarkable creativity and commitment throughout the challenge. Rosemont students continue to impress through their creativity, originality, and ability to apply classroom knowledge to real world situations.
America250PA will stream the final presentations live across social media, giving audiences the opportunity to support these innovative students. The DEIC experience strengthens essential skills such as leadership, communication, and problem solving. It also builds the confidence students need to succeed in competitive industries after graduation.
Business Programs Competitive Edge
Rosemont College’s business programs prepare students for success in marketing, management, and finance. Under the guidance of Dr. Christine Hagedorn, students gain practical experience through projects and competitions including the Direct Effect Marketing Madness Challenge 2025, DEIC 2024 & 2023. These programs emphasize critical thinking, ethical leadership, and hands on learning.
Students also develop strong professional networks that connect them with future employers and mentors. Rosemont’s commitment to experiential learning ensures that graduates are equipped with the tools to make an impact in their chosen fields.
