Rosemont College is excited to announce the launch of a new weekly feature in the Connections Newsletter presented by the Counseling Center. This initiative is titled “A Place to Be Seen, Heard, and Supported.” Through this series, the Counseling Center will share thoughtful reflections and practical tools that promote student wellbeing throughout the academic year.
The first issue in the series carries the title, “And Then It Was March.” Sam Keller leads this initiative with the support of the Counseling Center team, including Thomas DeGeorge, PhD, LPC, and Robert Pina, LPC. Together, they bring clinical expertise and a strong commitment to student care. As a result, the Rosemont community will receive consistent guidance designed to foster reflection, resilience, and growth.
The first issue, And Then it was March, sets the tone for this meaningful project. Below is the full message shared with the Rosemont community.
And Then It Was March
Hi Rosemont, Sam here!!
Happy March! With spring right around the corner, there’s a natural shift happening.
The days get a little longer, the air feels a little lighter, and everything around us starts to reset. Spring isn’t just about cleaning out your closet or opening the windows; it can also be an opportunity to gently “spring clean” your routine.
College life gets busy fast. Between classes, practices, internships, social plans, and everything in between, it’s easy to fall into habits that don’t always serve you, scrolling later than you meant to, skipping meals, overcommitting, or running on very little sleep.
A new season is a chance to pause and ask yourself: What’s working for me right now? What feels draining? What do I want more (or less) of this spring?
Spring cleaning your routine doesn’t have to be dramatic. It can look like:
- Setting a realistic bedtime and protecting it.
- Reworking your Sunday to feel less chaotic and more grounded.
- Swapping one hour of scrolling for a walk with a friend around campus.
- Checking in on your boundaries, where might you need to say “no” so you can say a better “yes”?
Growth doesn’t only happen in big, life changing moments. It happens in small, consistent shifts.
As we move into this new season, maybe your affirmation for the week could be: “I am allowed to outgrow what no longer supports me.”
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just in need of a reset, the Counseling Center is a great place to start. You don’t need a crisis to come in; sometimes it’s simply about creating space to reflect and realign.
The Counseling Center is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm. You can reach me directly at [email protected] or contact the Counseling Center at [email protected] to schedule an appointment.
New seasons are invitations. You get to decide how you step into this one.
