Student Academic Success Center (SASC)
Nurturing, Supporting & Encouraging
Rosemont’s Student Academic Success Center (SASC) provides undergraduate and graduate students with a sense of belonging in a nurturing environment, opportunities for self realization and personal development, and holds them accountable for working to the best of their abilities.
Our Goals
SASC provides supportive services, resources, and connections for students as they navigate the academic process. We educate students regarding college policies and procedures, connect them to campus and community resources, provide academic coaching, and accommodations for students with disabilities, and motivate students toward successful completion of their postsecondary education. In addition, our office coordinates programming throughout the year to promote self care, self actualization, and self advocacy. To accomplish these goals, we partner with local units, resources, and departments to provide coordinated care and support. Our center is a vibrant spot on campus where students gather to read, study, discuss class material, and fine tune writing. It’s a place where you’ll always find support and a friendly face. The Student Academic Success Center is here to help you on your journey to graduation. We look forward to seeing you!

Academic Coaching
The Student Academic Support Center (SASC) has professional academic coaches who work with students to identify and implement strategies to support students in their academic journey. Students of all abilities and who want to enhance their academic skillset are welcome to meet with our academic coaches. Coaching sessions vary depending on the needs and wants of the individual student. During one on on sessions, we can help students with time management, organization, study techniques, test taking strategies, test anxiety and more! Schedule a coaching session today! Email us at [email protected].
Tutoring Center
At our tutoring center, we have a dedicated team of peer and professional tutors committed to helping students excel academically and become confident learners. During tutoring sessions, our tutors provide support in various ways, including clarifying and reviewing concepts, explaining processes, solving problems, reviewing homework, brainstorming ideas for research papers, and reinforcing understanding of class material.
What’s great is that all tutoring appointments are free for students, and our focus is entirely on meeting the specific needs of each individual student. We offer both in person and virtual tutoring sessions across a range of subjects, such as accounting, biology, chemistry, algebra, economics, Spanish, and writing.
Academic Accommodations
In conjunction with faculty, the Student Academic Success Center (SASC) is committed to providing reasonable academic accommodations for students with learning disabilities, ADHD/ADD, autism, and mental health conditions that rise to the level of a disability. Our goal is to ensure that students with documented disabilities have an opportunity to grow independently to their full potential at Rosemont.
Students with disabilities may request support services in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. It is the responsibility of the student to self identify and disclose their disability to the college while also providing the necessary supporting documentation to the SASC.
To submit a request for academic accommodations and register with the SASC, students should complete the following steps:
Step 1: Complete the online Self Reported Questionnaire.
Step 2: Provide appropriate documentation (students may submit their Individualized Education Program or IEP, 504 Plans, and/or any history of services that were written by a certified school psychologist, physician, psychiatrist, or psychologist).
Step 3: Schedule a virtual or in person appointment with the SASC. The appointment serves as an opportunity for the student to discuss their individual academic strengths and needs. The determination of accommodations is a collaboration between the SASC staff and the student.
The SASC staff will review and consider all documentation provided to verify the disability and its severity and to determine appropriate accommodations. Reviewing documentation is a collaborative process and is handled on a case by case basis.
Upon approval of accommodations, students are provided with a Classroom Accommodation Request letter that provides written notification of the approved accommodations to be shared with the appropriate faculty, administrator, or staff member. It is the responsibility of the student to meet with all parties to discuss their needs for accommodations and to ensure how these accommodations will be implemented.
Students are encouraged to communicate with their instructors directly within the first few weeks of every semester. Achieving reasonable accommodations for a student with a disability involves a shared responsibility between students, faculty, and staff. Disclosure of a disability is voluntary. Accommodations are not retroactive. Students are advised to register with the SASC before the start of the semester to avoid any unnecessary delays.
For housing accommodations, please contact Residence Life at [email protected] or 610.527.0200 X2401.
How Accommodations Are Different Than High School
- The Student must self identify or disclose his/her disability.
- The Student must provide documentation of his/her disability.
- The Student is covered under FERPA. Staff cannot talk with parents or legal guardians about the student’s academic progress without a signed waiver.
- The Student must request specific accommodations and must serve as their own advocate.
- The College must provide reasonable accommodations with the goal of access.
