Biography
Radley Reist is an interdisciplinary professor in both Sustainability and Writing. He started at Rosemont as an adjunct professor in the Fall of 2021 and joined full-time in the Fall of 2023. He can frequently be found on campus teaching one of his many classes, exploring the natural environments of campus, or participating in any number of Rosemont’s social events.Â
He graduated from Villanova University with an MS in Environmental Science in 2021. Research focused primarily on ecosystem services in urban environments, exploring how aspects of our built environment impact the environmental indicators we experience and the ecosystem services we gain from them. Before this, he had worked in various community development roles, bringing people-centric solutions to environmental projects at local non-profits, and collaborative solutions to policy issues at state-level government. Â
Current teaching and research interests are aligned with the intersection of science and communications through the field of sustainability: How do we transform complex scientific knowledge into effective action for an increasingly complicated world? Professor Reist is a strong proponent of hands-on learning and experiential education, especially when combining interdisciplinary fields.Â
