Biography
Dr. George Wilson was born, raised, and currently living in Philadelphia. Not only is he a product of Philadelphia public schools, but he has been working for the School District of Philadelphia for 12 years as an elementary school teacher and counselor. During this time, Dr. Wilson has been able to form countless relationships with students, families, teachers, and administration from various communities throughout the city of Philadelphia.Â
While completing his Ph.D. program at Old Dominion University in Virginia, Dr. Wilson was able to serve as a research assistant, academic advisor, and supervisor of future counselors. His research interests include school counseling supervision, using student interest to build rapport, and college and career readiness. He has taught at the graduate level at Old Dominion University and Villanova University.Â
Dr. Wilson is currently a school counselor in a Philadelphia elementary public school. He adheres to the ASCA National Model and strives to assist students in setting and achieving academic, social/emotional, and college and career readiness goals. He is passionate about working with a diverse population and advocating for the students who need it the most.Â
