The Department of Psychology offers an exciting and challenging curriculum and a broad range of courses to understand psychology as a scientific discipline. The focus is on relevant, current research in developmental, social/personality, counseling, and neuropsychology to better understand the brain, mind, and human behavior. The program instills in students the values of scientific psychology (e.g., intellectual curiosity, respect for empirical evidence, ethical action, appreciation of human diversity, and social responsibility.

Get Two Degrees in Five or Six Years
Psychology majors aspiring to become mental health or school counselors can fast track their career by joining our dual degree program. In this program, students earn a BA in Psychology and any one of the available counseling related MA programs in just six years, saving both time and money. Eligible students with a GPA of 3.3 or higher can apply before their junior year at Rosemont. If accepted, you'll take one graduate course per semester, accumulating 12 credits toward your master’s degree by the time you graduate with your bachelor’s.

Accelerated Three Year Degree Eligibility & Requirements
Candidates for the three year program should have a minimum high school GPA of 3.50 and a combined Math and Critical reading SAT score of 1100. See more below and discuss with your advisor.
• Students take fifteen credits in their first semester
• Eighteen credits in subsequent semesters
• Attend two summer sessions after the first and second years (unless transferring AP/IB credits or other college credits eliminating one or both summer sessions).
