The Undergraduate College: Traditional, On Campus
Teachers play a crucial role in child development. More than educators, they serve as mentors and advocates to students and their families. The course requirements have been developed to meet the certification standards promulgated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Bachelor of Science Programs with Certifications
Students pursuing a BS in Elementary Education have the option to work toward certification to teach grades PK-4. Alternatively, they can pursue certification in both PK-4 and PK-12 Special Education. Obtaining double certification not only enhances your skills as a well rounded educator, better equipped to serve your students, but also boosts your marketability to future employers.

Bachelor of Arts Programs with Certifications
If you’ve always been interested in a particular subject and envision yourself thriving as its teacher, or if you’ve been inspired by one of your teachers and developed a passion for a subject, wanting to share that inspiration with others, then consider majoring in that subject. You can complement your major with a specific set of Education courses to achieve teaching certification in that field. Rosemont offers certification paths in the following areas:
• BA Biology with Education Grades 7-12 Certification in Biology
• BA Chemistry with Education Grades 7-12 Certification in Chemistry
• BA English with Education Grades 7-12 Certification in English
• BA History with Education Grades 7-12 Certification in Social Studies

• BA Spanish with PK-12 Certification in Spanish
• BA or BFA Studio Art & Graphic Design with PK-12 Certification in Art
