For many law enforcement officers within the Greater Philadelphia region, the completion of an associate’s degree can result in pay increases of $300 to $2,500, depending on their collective bargaining agreement. Credits you’ve earned at the Police Academy may count toward your degree.

Transfer Credits: The school of Professional Studies' generous transfer policy allows students to transfer up to 45 credits required for an Associate level degree, or up to 90 credits required for a Bachelor degree. This program may accept credits from law enforcement, public safety, DHS/FEMA, and Military Training at the discretion of the Program Director. Contact the program director for more information.
Prior Learning Assessments: Receive college credit for learning acquired through life experience. By evaluating a portfolio, the School of Professional Studies will determine whether your experience qualifies as college level learning. Pay for one credit and receive three credits per course successfully challenged. You may challenge up to fifteen courses. Contact the program director for more information.
Credit by Examination: After enrolling in the School of Professional Studies, you may seek approval from your program to receive credit by examination. Contact the program director or the Office of the Registrar for more information.
Choose Your Path to Success
Students enrolled in Undergraduate Professional Studies (PS) Bachelor's programs have the option to add one or more concentrations, to further enrich their educational experience. This additional focus provides specialized knowledge and experience tailored to both students career and personal goals.
Take Your Education Even Further
If you complete the associate’s degree, you’ll have the opportunity to transition seamlessly into Rosemont’s bachelor’s program in Criminal Justice. Qualified graduates may transfer into the junior year of the Rosemont baccalaureate program in criminal justice, saving both time and money.
Rosemont also offers various graduate Homeland Security (MA-HLS) degrees. Complete the accelerated and fully online graduate Homeland Security & Emergency Management program in as little as one year as a full time student with the 4+ 1 Dual Degree program when paired with a bachelor degree in Criminology, Political Science or Sociology.
