Already have an Art Degree? Become an Art Teacher
If you’re excited about instilling a lifelong love of learning and art in the next generation, then becoming an art teacher can be a fulfilling career. Art teachers are trained as both artists and educators, gaining in depth knowledge of the fine arts and classroom management tools needed to effectively teach—and inspire—their students.
To achieve this, Rosemont’s Post Baccalaureate art students complete designated education courses to prepare for an Art Education (PK-12) teaching certification. Students must also fulfill all testing and GPA requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Your major advisor, along with the Director of Education who serves as your advisor, will ensure that all required coursework is completed prior to student teaching. We are fully approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Candidates must take and pass the Praxis Test for the major subject area to become certified in Pennsylvania.
The goals of the program are directly aligned with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, therefore, all programs are prescribed by the PDE. Program graduates apply their knowledge, skills, and expertise to become reflective educators prepared for success as teachers, education specialists, and administrators in both public and private schools.
