Severe Weather Advisory
Rosemont College is issuing an important Cold Weather update for students staff and families. Due to continued winter conditions, the College will open at 10:00 am on Monday February 16, 2026. This delayed opening allows facilities teams time to address snow and ice on campus walkways and roadways.
Recent melting has created additional concerns. Refreezing overnight may create slick surfaces across campus. The delayed start supports safe travel and safer movement throughout the day. Rosemont appreciates the cooperation of the campus community during this weather adjustment.
The National Weather Service continues to forecast dangerous cold weather conditions through the night of February 15th and early hours Monday morning. Temperatures are expected to remain well below normal for mid February. Overnight lows may drop into the single digits. Wind chills may fall below zero at times.
Extended exposure to these conditions can increase health risks. Frostbite and hypothermia remain concerns during extreme cold. Students and staff should dress in warm layers and limit time outdoors when possible. Gloves hats and insulated footwear remain strongly recommended.
Meteorologists also anticipate a coastal system Sunday into Monday. This system may bring light to moderate snowfall in some areas. Forecasts suggest approximately one to three inches may fall in nearby regions. Strong wind gusts may accompany the system.
Gusty winds can cause blowing snow and reduced visibility. These conditions may affect travel during peak hours. Some coastal areas may also experience minor flooding. Community members should remain alert as forecasts evolve.
What This Means for the Rosemont Community

Rosemont College encourages everyone to monitor local weather reports. Please allow extra travel time when commuting. Use caution on sidewalks parking areas and campus roads. Report any hazardous conditions to campus staff if noticed.
