Business Students Join Campus250 Event for America’s 250th Anniversary
Business students from Rosemont College attended a unique informative session hosted by PHENND. The exciting event focused on Philadelphia’s upcoming celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary. Campus Philly and PHENND teamed up to support higher education institutions in Greater Philadelphia, aiming to plan and amplify programming for this historic occasion.
Rosemont College’s own business professor, Christine Hagedorn, was a panelist. She spoke about the college’s plans to get involved in the 250th celebrations. The panel was moderated by Andre Castillo, an alumnus of Rosemont College who now works for America250PA.
Accordingly, the event provided valuable insights into nonprofit organizations and the career opportunities available to students. Rosemont College student Veronika Matura, from the Class of 2025, shared her thoughts on the event: “The PHENND event was truly impressive! I gained valuable information about various nonprofit organizations and opportunities, such as post college jobs and internships available to students.”
This collaboration between Campus Philly and PHENND aimed to help colleges and universities across the region align their efforts for the 250th anniversary. Additionally, the Philadelphia Funders Collaborative provided a planning grant to support these efforts. As a result the organizations can collaboratively help colleges plan, amplify, and identify resources for celebratory programming.
Campus250 presents a unique opportunity for students to contribute to a historic celebration. Rosemont College students are already making strides in shaping the future of Philadelphia’s educational community during this milestone year.
