Liturgical Ministries

Ministry of Music

Join our choir!  As a music minister, you help to facilitate the prayer and worship experience for all members of the congregation by leading the hymns, singing reflective meditations, and contributing to the parts of the Mass that require song.  Our church choir is open to anybody and everybody with a willingness to share their gifts with Rosemont and with God.

Ministry of the Acolyte

An acolyte is a person who follows Jesus the Christ as Lord and who, in service to Him, assists the priest in the worship of the liturgy. An acolyte is also known as an altar server. Duties include: carrying the cross in the procession, lighting the candles on the altar, preparing the wine and water for the sacrifice of the Mass, assisting those leading in worship when they need something during the service, and preparing the altar for the liturgy of the Eucharist.

Ministry of the Lector

The ministry of the lector calls for a person to grow in a warm and loving knowledge of Scripture. In this ministry, you are an instrument for God's Word to be shared with the congregation. The Rosemont Ministry Team is inviting you to enter a relationship with the Word of God, a Word that is creative, powerful, and effective. The duties of the lector are to carry the book of the Gospel during the procession and to proclaim the Word of God during the Liturgy of the Word.

Ministry of the Eucharist

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist assist the priest in the distribution of the Sacrament of Holy Communion. They also distribute the body and blood of our Savior to those who are hospitalized, homebound, and those in nursing homes. In this ministry, you are an instrument of God's body and blood to be shared at the high point of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. You will be serving our community by sharing with them the mystery that makes us one body. Duties include the distribution of the Eucharist at Mass.

Minister of Hospitality

Hospitality has been part of the Judeo-Christian Tradition from the beginning. In Scripture, we find Abraham entertaining angels and offering them a special hospitality. The Rosemont Ministry Team is inviting people who have the gifts and graces to express social warmth, who have an honest smile, heartfelt handshake, and are sincere to assist in the Ministry of Hospitality. Hospitality Ministers are the welcoming faces of the liturgy. Duties include: greeting the people as they arrive, preparing the church environment for the liturgy, and inviting the people in the assembly to take active participation in the Mass.
