Rosemont Student Among Award Recipients
Rosemont College proudly recognizes student Elise Stankus, a Synodal Fellow Cohort Leader. Rosemont is celebrating her leadership and award winning participation in the growing movement of synodality in Catholic higher education.
Elise is one of 17 student fellows participating in SCHEAP. SCHEAP stands for Synodality in Catholic Higher Education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia began in 2022. With grant support from The Lilly Endowment, The Synodal Fellows program is now in its second year. The grant is part of the national program We Are the Now of the Church: Young Adult Synodal Ministry and Thriving Catholic Congregations.
This summer, Elise joined fellow SCHEAP participants at CALLED25, the Catholic Campus Ministry Association’s national conference. Elise and two other students were invited to accept the Fr. Bob Beloin Award on behalf of SCHEAP. The three students—Elise Stankus of Rosemont College, Joely McMullen from Saint Joseph’s University, and Rechelle Febrer from Villanova University—were joined by Jeff Wallace of Gwynedd Mercy University, a member of the SCHEAP team. The award recognizes outstanding creativity, collaboration, and innovation in campus ministry, honoring the group’s dynamic and inclusive approach to ministry across the region.
Demonstrating Leadership
SCHEAP unites students and ministers from Rosemont College. Partners from colleges, universities, Newman Centers, and parishes across the Archdiocese of Philadelphia also participate. The project fosters leadership, community, and discernment as central components of student ministry.
Elise’s recognition as one of the SCHEAP recipients of the Fr. Bob Beloin Award is a proud moment for the Rosemont community. Her work exemplifies Rosemont College’s mission, which is rooted in Catholicism and guided by the educational principles of Cornelia Connelly and the Society of the Holy Child Jesus.
