The conference highlights how institutions can strengthen democratic values through teaching service and collaboration. In addition, Rosemont College is proud to announce that Dr. Christine Hagedorn will again represent Rosemont College at the Annual PHENND Conference. Dr. Hagedorn is the embodiment of civic engagement and community partnership through all of the relationships she develops with corporations and groups for her students on a regular basis. Her participation further reflects Rosemont’s commitment to mission driven education and respectful community engagement. She will join colleagues from across the Philadelphia higher education community.
Learning From Community Partnerships
The Annual PHENND Conference showcases practical actions colleges can take to support civic engagement. Sessions highlight partnerships that promote intergenerational learning and shared responsibility.
Faculty may recognize similar efforts across campus. Environmental Studies students collaborate each year with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. Business programs at Rosemont College led by Dr. Christine Hagedorn partner with the Dennis Farm Charitable Trust, Asian Bank, and America250PA. Many other departments maintain meaningful relationships with community organizations.
The Annual PHENND Conference also creates strong networking opportunities. Higher education institutions from across the region will send delegates. Faculty can connect with peers who share interests in civic learning and community engagement.
