Rosemont College proudly announces the success of alumna Amber Lunderman, whose editorial work on a groundbreaking new young adult fantasy novel has gained national attention. A Major Editorial Milestone
Stirred Stories contracted Amber Lunderman in October 2023 to edit Why the Birds Fly Back. This publishing house focuses on diversity and voices that broaden the landscape of young adult literature. The novel debuted on October 28, 2025, and received early praise from readers and educators. It also earned a place on the Children Book Council‘s November Hot Off the Press list of anticipated bestsellers. This recognition highlights the strong influence of the story and the skill behind its development.
Lunderman earned her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Rosemont College in May 2025. Her graduate experience strengthened her editorial abilities and prepared her for a career in publishing. This project demonstrates the value of Rosemont programs and the guidance students receive from expert faculty.

Lunderman describes the novel as a story about personal discovery, resilience, and the importance of family.
