Odalyza Mendez-Rivera, a Rosemont student from the Class of 2025, shared her experience. “Volunteering with ALPFA at the Philly Summit was an incredible opportunity. What stood out most to me was realizing I wasn’t alone in facing challenges like people mispronouncing my name or understanding my abilities. Connecting with others who shared similar experiences was both eye opening and empowering,” Mendez-Rivera said. Her words captured the sense of community and shared understanding that made the event so impactful.
The event also included interactive workshops. These sessions helped students improve their resumes, prepare for interviews, and build professional skills. Attendees had the chance to network with employers, making connections that could shape their careers.
One of the event’s highlights was the “Dress for Success” session. Experts provided valuable tips on how to dress for interviews and professional success.
The ALPFA Philly Student Summit 2024 was a powerful experience for Rosemont students. It gave them the tools, connections, and confidence to succeed in the workforce. This event was an important step in preparing them for the challenges ahead.
