Rosemont College is excited to welcome acclaimed artist Alfred Ortega to campus for a special solo exhibition in the Patricia M. Nugent Art Gallery. Running from June 19 through July 20, 2026, this highly anticipated show offers the Rosemont community and art lovers across the region a rare opportunity to experience Ortega’s vibrant, energetic work up close.
A reception with the artist will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 3:00 – 5:00pm. We strongly encourage students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the public to attend and celebrate this exciting exhibition.
Meet Alfred Ortega
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Alfred Ortega is a distinguished painter and master printmaker. He studied painting and sculpture at the prestigious Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His work is currently represented by several distinguished galleries, including Atlantic Gallery in Nantucket, David David Gallery in Palm Gardens, Florida, Millésimé in Philadelphia, and CSM Art in New Jersey.

The Artist’s Process & Philosophy
In his own words, Ortega describes his creative practice as beginning with “the spirit of mystery.” He builds compositions through wide, bold strokes of color, trusting the process and remaining open to change. His goal is to share a “communication of the spirit of mystery” and reflect his own humanity through each piece.
