Biology Major

Build a Foundation in the Biological Sciences at Rosemont

The key to success as a biology major is the opportunity to engage in exciting research. As a biology major at Rosemont College, you will have the unparalleled opportunity to participate in research with a faculty mentor and present your findings at professional meetings. We are proud of the fact that for two consecutive years, our students have earned first prize at the Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium for Biological and Chemical Sciences. It's just one of the reasons why 95% of our qualified students who applied to medical or osteopathic school were accepted.
The biology department provides you with a foundation in the biological sciences through the study of living organisms at the molecular, genetic, cellular, organismal, and ecological level. Our graduates are prepared to undertake graduate study, professional training in the medical sciences and allied health fields, teaching at the secondary level, or employment in an industry concerned with the biological or environmental sciences.
Biology students here at Rosemont College will have the opportunity to choose between three tracks of study:

Experiential Learning

Courses include a laboratory component in which students will learn the latest technologies and methodologies that are currently used in a variety of fields.

An internship and on or off campus research is a required component to the major. Students are able to complete a major or minor in biology.

Powerful Partnerships

Rosemont College has affiliation agreements with the following institutions: Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Salus University, Drexel University College of Nursing ACE program or USciences.
