Double Degree Option


More information, more training, more contacts, less time--earn two degrees in only three years. The MFA in Creative Writing and MA in Publishing Double Degree program offers students the best of both programs in a compressed time. Students will graduate with a full-length creative work for their MFA and a thesis or capstone project for their MA.  The projects often support each other. Double Degree students still have the opportunity to intern, and students with the Double Degree have more opportunities to write, publish, and teach. Creative Non-fiction Children's & Young Adult
Dramatic Writing Design
Novel Writing Editorial
Short Fiction  
Writing for Children and Young Adults      


Students will take the following classes to earn the double degree:

MFA in Creative Writing courses (21 credits)

4 writing workshop courses
3 literature courses

MA in Publishing courses (21 credits)

7 core courses

Electives (12 credits)

2 courses from each program

Double thesis (6 credits)
